    INTRODUCTION.
FUEL FOR BUILDING AND ROAD MACHINES

    Topics:

    1.   Fuel composition

    2.    Fuel combustion as a physical oxidation process

    3.     Knock combustion

    Overview

Petrol and diesel fuel are used as fuel for construction and road vehicles. This chapter provides information on the composition of fuel as a combination of organic compounds and mineral impurities. It describes the combustion processes of fuel as a physical and chemical process of fuel oxidation, which is accompanied by the release of heat and an increase in the temperature of fuel and combustion products. This chapter examines the physics of the process of normal and detonation combustion of gasoline and the process of normal and rigid operation of diesel. In addition, this chapter explains how to choose the desired fuel brand.
